Butler Springs Alabama Tornado Video - By Jim Edds
Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 1:19AM A significant tornado outbreak occurred on Friday, April 15, 2011, across Mississippi and Alabama. I was nowcasting during the afternoon for fellow storm chaser Jim Edds (@extremestorms) for over 5 hours who was chasing the moderate risk in south-central Alabama. After chasing several supercells, he got on an impressive tornadic supercell in Butler County, AL west of Greenville. This is where he filmed a tornado just northeast of Butler Springs, AL. - Thanks to Jim for sharing the video. You can read Jim's full chase report of this weather event.
Update: - Unfortunately, this tornado outbreak went on to produce another widespread amount of tornadoes in South and North Carolina, on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Between the last several days, there has been a large amount of tornadoes reported from the eastern Plains states, through the deep south and into the Mid-Atlantic. Sadly the death toll from the last several days of tornadoes has reached 44 now.
