I was on my way to a late lunch along the coast this afternoon, and when I came to a stoplight I noticed people pointing upward towards the sky in a nearby parking lot. Obviously, this got my attention quickly, and I rolled the window down to look up to see what I might be missing. I was instantly amazed to see this extremely vivid Sun Halo painting the early afternoon sky over South Florida.
So, you guessed it, I quickly found a place to pull over further up the road and began taking some shots. There it was, a beautiful Sun Halo with some rainbow colors just hanging there grabbling everyone attention. I thought about setting up to shoot a time-lapse since it seemed that it would hang around for awhile with the very thin upper-level cirrus clouds streaming overhead, but with other obligations later this afternoon I was short on time.
Nevertheless, it was a beautiful sight to see on a very comfortable weather-wise South Florida mid-March day.
